Basset Ear Prediction Run
Brennan's Hill, Canada • 18 Apr 2026
Event description
The Basset Ear Prediction Run is an 8 km event on a rural gravel road in Denholm, QC. The course is undulating, with hills on unpaved surfaces. Participants run without watches, phones, or timing devices.
Racing is based on predicted finish times: the winner is the runner whose predicted time is closest to their actual finish time, regardless of finishing order. On arrival, participants register and collect a bib, write their predicted 8 km finish time on a central board, and start on a signal from the organizer along Farrellton Rd heading south. After finishing, each runner receives a sticker showing their finish time to add to the board and calculate the time differential.
The event location is The Ark, 285 ch. de Farrellton, Denholm, QC J0X 2C0. Food is available on site in the form of freshly made Basset Ears with choice of toppings. Additional on-site activities include a Rock-Paper-Scissors contest with a pair of Atlas Snowshoes as a prize and a "1-2 Game" offering other random prizes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
