Back to The 80s 5K, 10K & 15K

The 3rd Annual Back to the 80s event takes place at the Campion Trail in Irving, Texas. This themed run and walk encourages participants to wear retro attire such as leg warmers and bright colors while listening to periodic music hits from the decade. The course is an out-and-back trail situated at 5950 Riverside Drive.

Participants can choose from three different distances:

  • 5K (3.1 miles)
  • 10K (6.1 miles)
  • 15K (9 miles)

The event includes a warm-up led by the ZFT Run Club and a post-race party featuring a live DJ. The course is chip-timed, meaning individual results are recorded once a participant crosses the start mat. For safety and flow, faster runners are asked to line up at the front of the field, while walkers and those with strollers are positioned at the back.

Registered participants receive a shirt and a medal, provided they meet the registration cutoff for apparel. The site offers free parking and includes on-course restrooms and portable toilets at the start and finish lines. Awards are presented to the overall male and female winners, as well as the top three finishers in various age divisions ranging from 10-19 to over 80. A virtual option is also available for those unable to attend the physical event in Irving, with packets shipped to the United States mainland.
