La Nuit

La Nuit is a night trail event at Cedar Ridge Preserve, 7171 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX, held Friday evening into Saturday morning on July 24-25, 2026. Walk-up registration is available and packet pickup is offered at The Runner in Arlington on Wednesday and Thursday, July 22 and 23.

Distances and formats:

  • 1 Miler (about 0.9 miles)
  • 5K
  • 10K
  • 3 Hour timed race using repeated 3.2 mile loop
  • 6 Hour timed race using repeated 3.2 mile loop
  • 9 Hour timed race using repeated 3.2 mile loop
  • 9 Hour Relay (three-person teams alternating loops)

The hour races and relay use the same 3.2 mile loop repeated through the event. Winners in hour races are determined by the most loops completed in the shortest total time; runners must begin their final loop within the last 20 minutes before the race cutoff and finish that loop. The relay alternates a chip handoff each lap.

Course and support: trails are forested with rock, mulch, dirt, small gravel and occasional steps and switchbacks; the loop passes around a pond and varied terrain. Trails are marked with reflective signs and ropes. One main aid station at the start/finish supplies water, Gatorade, snacks and some hot foods; a small additional water table is placed at the halfway mark. The event is cupless so participants should bring a personal bottle or cup. Restrooms are located at the start/finish.

Rules and logistics include no dogs, strollers, or bikes on the trails; trekking poles are allowed; entry fees are non refundable; stay on marked trails. Proceeds benefit Equip Disciples, a 501(c)(3) supporting Bible study leaders in DR Congo and Rwanda, and support Cedar Ridge Preserve.
