Back on the Ranch Trail Run
The Back on the Ranch Trail Run is a 9th annual event presented by AllWeDoIsRun. It takes place from October 2 to 4, 2026, at the private Sand Creek Ranch in Los Olivos, California.
Participants run a 3.4-mile loop course as many times as possible within their chosen time limit. The loop has approximately 400 feet of vertical gain per lap. The surface is a blend of hard pack dirt road and soft single track trail, with about 95% dirt. The course is described as very runnable, subject to weather conditions.
The available race divisions are:
- 48 Hour
- 24 Hour
- 12 Hour (with daytime or nighttime options)
- 6 Hour
- 3 Hour
- Non-Runner
A well-stocked aid station and support is available every 3.4 miles. Camping is available within a few feet of the course, and parking is free on a first-come, first-served basis. The setting is primitive, with no hook-ups or running water. The ranch gate opens on Thursday, October 1, and closes on Sunday, October 4.
All participants receive a custom souvenir t-shirt and finisher's amulet. Awards are presented to the top male and female in each division. A western-style trophy buckle is awarded to all 24-hour or 48-hour finishers who complete 100 miles. The event has a no refund, transfer, or deferral policy.
