Event overview

The Awesome 80s Summer Solstice Beach Run presented by Moe Moon's takes place on June 21, 2026 in Myrtle Beach, SC at Plyler Park / Moe Moons (1100 N Ocean Blvd, 29577). The event offers an on-site Beach Run/Walk and a Virtual Option. Early bird pricing is available through December 22. The in-person entry fee is $30 and the virtual option is $55. Registration is available only online and closes on June 21, 2026; virtual registration for the virtual option closes May 1, 2026.

Course and format

The event begins and ends on the sand adjacent to Plyler Park. Participants will head north from the start for approximately 1/2 mile and then return to the beach finish. The event is un-timed; no overall or age group awards will be given. A timing clock will be posted at the finish and course monitors will provide direction.

No animals, baby joggers, baby strollers, skate boards, roller blades, unauthorized bicycles or other wheeled devices are permitted on the course; violations may result in disqualification. Participants dressed in 80s attire are entered into a costume raffle.

Logistics and race day items

Packet pickup is scheduled the day before at Native Sons (1519 Executive Avenue) and on race day at Plyler Park. Race swag includes a participant bib, a participant shirt while supplies last, and a participant medal. Race participants receive a hotdog, chips, and a soda or water provided by Moe Moon's. Metered parking is available adjacent to Ocean Blvd and at the Lanier Paid Parking garage on 9th Avenue N. Public restrooms are located across the street from Plyler Park/Skywheel.
