Awesome 80s Summer Solstice Beach Run

Myrtle Beach, United States • 21 Jun 2026

Awesome 80s Summer Solstice Beach Run presented by Moe Moon's

The event takes place on June 21, 2026 at Plyler Park on the Myrtle Beach shoreline. It offers an in-person beach run on sand and a virtual participation option. The in-person course begins on the beach adjacent to Plyler Park, heads north for up to one mile, and returns to the beach finish. Course monitors will be positioned along the route; there are no water stops on course. Animals, baby joggers, strollers, skateboards, roller blades and unauthorized bicycles or other wheeled devices are not permitted on the race course and will result in disqualification.

Registration is available online. Entry items for in-person participants include a bib, a participant shirt while supplies last, a participant medal, and post-race food provided by Moe Moon's that includes a hotdog, chips, and soda or water. The event is un-timed and will not offer overall or age group awards; a timing clock will be posted at the finish. All participants dressed in 1980s attire are entered into a costume raffle.

The virtual option covers the same one mile distance, does not require result submission, and race swag for virtual participants will be shipped within two weeks after the event.
