Ashtead 10k 2026

The Ashtead 10k and a 2k fun run are organised annually by Ashtead Running Group to raise funds for local charities. The event is held on rough tracks around Ashtead Common and uses the Scout Hut at Woodfield, Ashtead KT21 2RL as the event base.

The course runs entirely through Ashtead Common, a Site of Special Scientific Interest for its breeding birds and a National Nature Reserve for decaying wood of ancient trees and the rare invertebrates that live there. The site also contains two Scheduled Monuments, a Roman villa and a triangular earthwork. The race takes place with the permission of the Ashtead Common Rangers and the Corporation of the City of London.

The course is not flat and is best described as undulating. Participants should note that hornets were recorded in 2010 and the organisers cannot guarantee the course will be hornet free. For safety, earphones are not permitted during the event.

Entry fees cover processing, a free raffle, licences and permits, and medical cover. The event is described as Britain's 'greenest' race and encourages participants to use public transport; the nearby train station is one minute's walk from the event base.
