Ashtead 10k 2026

The Ashtead 10k and 2k fun run is organised annually by Ashtead Running Group and raises funds for local charities. The event is based at The Scout Hut, Woodfield, Ashtead KT21 2RL and the routes run entirely on rough tracks around Ashtead Common.

Ashtead Common is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and a National Nature Reserve. The site contains two ancient Scheduled Monuments, a Roman villa and a triangular earthwork. The race takes place with the permission of the Ashtead Common Rangers and the Corporation of the City of London.

The course is not flat and is described as undulating. Earphones are not permitted during the race for the safety of all participants. Organisers note a past massed hornet attack in 2010 and state they cannot guarantee the course will be hornet free though none have been seen since.

The entry fee covers entry processing, a free raffle, licences and permits, medical coverage, and measures associated with being described as Britain s greenest race. All monies raised after race expenses are donated to charity. Participants are encouraged to use public transport; the train station is about one minute s walk from the event base.
