Course and logistics
Courses run through the foothills of the San Tan and Goldmine ranges on rolling single-track trails with Saguaro cactus, rocky sections, and some sandy washes. The Goldmine climb is a steep, rocky section on several courses. The 50K is three loops of the 17K course with aid stations placed roughly every 2.2 to 5.1 miles. Aid stations provide water, electrolyte drink, snacks, and fruit. This is a cupless event; runners should bring a reusable cup or purchase one onsite.
Parking and access: 5K and 9K participants use a shuttle from Mountain View Church into the park and receive free park entry on the shuttle. The park charges a vehicle entry fee for other attendees. Crews are allowed only at the start/finish area, pacers are not allowed, and drop bags are permitted for 50K and 26K at the start/finish. The 50K has a defined time limit and mid-race cutoffs.
