McIntosh 10K

Event

The McIntosh 10K is a trail race held on October 25, 2025, in Halifax, Nova Scotia at 25 Lois Lane. The event is a chip-timed 10 km loop and lists 139 participants. Registration options are divided into three start waves based on expected finish time; the waves are staggered five minutes apart to reduce early congestion. Entry fee for each wave is $45.91, which includes a $3 trail donation. A volunteer entry option is listed as free. The event policy states there are no refunds, but registrations may be transferred to another person through the registration system up to October 16 for a $1.95 plus processing fee.

Course and logistics

The course is entirely on the McIntosh Run Single Track trail system and uses well-maintained granite trails with some roots and rocks. The loop offers views of Halifax Harbour and Flat Lake and passes areas that were affected by a past forest fire. Organizers note the race will proceed in most weather and recommend traction aids (such as slip-on spikes, studded shoes, or sand) if conditions are slippery. There is no mandatory gear list. Prizing is planned for 10 km podium finishers and winners in the over-50 categories, plus additional door prizes.
