Event Overview
The Any Kind of Weather Runner is a six-hour timed challenge held in Northampton. Participants can run or walk distances ranging from a 5K to an ultra marathon within the time limit. A participant may start a final lap up to 5 hours and 59 minutes, with their finish time recorded even if it exceeds six hours.
Course Details
The event takes place on a public footpath at Northampton Active, Bedford Road. The course consists of laps. Two lap lengths are used: one is 3.28 miles, the other is 4.37 miles. Distances are achieved by completing a set number of laps:
- 5K: 1 lap of a 5K turn point.
- 10K: 2 laps of the 5K lap.
- Half Marathon: 3 or 4 laps.
- Marathon: 6 or 8 laps.
- Ultra Marathon: 7 or 9 laps. The exact route is subject to change based on a final health and safety review. Participants are asked to be considerate of other path users.
Facilities and Logistics
An aid table with water, squash, fizzy drinks, and various foods is available at the end of each lap. Toilets are available at the venue, but there are no changing facilities or showers. There is plenty of parking on-site, and car sharing is encouraged. A bag drop area is provided at the start/finish, but it is not secure, and valuable items should not be left.
Participant Information
All finishers receive an Any Kind of Weather Runner medal and a standard five-piece goody bag. Event instructions are emailed to participants seven days before the event. Race number collection is from the registration desk on the event morning. The event is licensed by the TRA and run under UK Athletics rules, with age-based distance restrictions: Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
- Ages 12-13: 5,000m maximum.
- Ages 14-15: 6,000m maximum.
- Age 16: 10,000m maximum.
- Age 17: 25,000m maximum.
- Ages 18-19: 45,000m maximum.
- Age 20 and over: No maximum distance.
