The event takes place near LeChee Rock, AZ. The half marathon start and finish coordinates are 36.81965, -111.30870. The half marathon course is on sandy terrain within Navajo Nation and includes double track roads, ATV trails, washes, and slot canyons. The organizer notes about 4.3 miles to the first aid station, roughly 4.4 miles of canyon running to the next aid station at mile 6.9, and a third aid station at mile 9.3. After a 1.5 mile loop in a wash the course returns to the main road for a total near 13.9 miles and almost 1,200 feet of ascent. The last aid station cut off at mile 11 is five hours, with no exceptions.

The 8 mile course follows the half marathon route to the Canyon X aid station at 2.6 miles, drops into the slot canyon to about 3.8 miles, then climbs a sand hill about 155 feet tall and 200 meters long to a water drop. The return follows double track back to aid at mile 5.4 and then road back to the start, with about 850 feet of total ascent and descent.

The event is cup-less; participants must provide their own bottles or hydration pack. Ribbons and signs mark the course. The event is on Navajo Nation but follows Page, AZ (Phoenix) time. Bib pickup is April 11, 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM MST at the start line parking lot, with limited pickup April 12, 5:00 AM to 5:30 AM at the start line near mile post 307-308 on Highway 98.
