Antelope Canyon X Half Marathon : Overview

The event is held near Page, AZ at LeChee Rock on the Navajo Nation. It includes a half marathon and an 8 mile race. Organizers state the event follows local Page, AZ time (same as Phoenix, AZ). The event is cup-less; participants must carry their own bottles or a hydration bladder. Ribbons and signs are used as course markers. The half marathon is on 100% Navajo Nation sand and uses double-track roads, ATV trails, washes, and slot canyons. Aid stations are placed along the route (first aid near 4.3 miles, next at about mile 6.9, third at mile 9.3). The half marathon total ascent is stated as almost 1,200 feet. The 8 mile course follows the half marathon route into Canyon X, includes a canyon bed section to about mile 3.8, then a sand-hill climb of about 155 feet (200 meters) to a water drop before returning to the start.
