Angeles Crest 100 Mile Endurance Run
The Angeles Crest 100 Mile Endurance Run (AC100) is a 100-mile point-to-point trail race between Wrightwood and Altadena in the San Gabriel Mountains. It is one of the original five 100-mile races in the United States, first held in 1986, and remains one of only six point-to-point 100-mile races in the country.
The course has an elevation range from 1,135 to 9,300 feet, with a cumulative elevation gain of approximately 21,610 feet. It features steep climbs, rocky terrain, and high alpine ridges. The original finish line was at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena; it is now at Loma Alta Park in Altadena. For the 2026 edition, the course will bypass the Chantry Flats area due to trail damage, routing runners via the Kenyon/Devore Trail to the top of Mt. Wilson before finishing in Altadena.
Registration for the event is managed through a lottery system, with 210 spots available. A qualifier race of 50 miles or more is required, and trail work is mandatory for all entrants. There is a SOLO division where participants cannot use pacers or a crew.
Finishers receive a tech t-shirt and a personalized engraved plaque. Additional awards include different bronze and sterling silver buckles for finishing under 24, 25, or 33 hours, and special trophies for overall winners, solo winners, and runners with 10 or 20 consecutive finishes.
