Adventure Fest at 18 Road
Adventure Fest is a multi-day outdoor sports event held at the North Fruita Desert Trailhead in Fruita, Colorado. The festival brings together runners, cyclists, and outdoor enthusiasts for a weekend of competition and community activities in the backcountry. The event base is located approximately seven miles down 18 Road and features an on-site campground with basic amenities such as fire rings, picnic tables, and vault toilets.
The weekend includes a variety of athletic events across different disciplines:
- Fruita Trail Half Marathon: A 13.8 mile loop on singletrack trails featuring steep climbs and desert views.
- Dirty Edge Gravel: A 50 km gravel bike race with 2,700 feet of elevation gain.
- Sarlacc Attack MTB Long Course: A 50 km mountain bike race with 3,400 feet of climbing.
- Sarlacc Zippity MTB: A shorter 22 km mountain bike race on flowy singletrack.
- Kids' Races: Specialized events including a Balance Bike Race and a Beginner Mountain Bike Race.
Participants can opt for the Fruita AF challenge, which involves completing designated races on both Saturday and Sunday. In addition to the competitive races, the festival hosts a women's gravel bike clinic, a group shakeout ride, and guided canyoneering trips in the Colorado National Monument. Evening social activities include a bonfire awards ceremony and a night-time glowstick parade ride. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
