Adventure Fest - Fruita, CO
Adventure Fest is a weekend outdoor festival held at the North Fruita Desert Trailhead near Fruita, Colorado. The program combines trail running, mountain and gravel bike racing, guided canyoneering, clinics, kids events, and reserved camping in the desert environment.
The running and bike schedule includes multiple race options on local singletrack and gravel routes. The trail half marathon is a 13.8-mile loop on flowy singletrack with short, steep climbs and descents. Mountain and gravel races use The Edge, Sarlacc and other nearby trails and offer both long and shorter course options.
Guided canyoneering trips take place in Colorado National Monument. Activities include hiking, scrambling, chimney moves, rappels up to 100 feet, and a passage called the Lemon Squeezer. Trips are open to participants age 8 and up and include instruction for climbers new to rappelling.
Weekend activities also include a women’s gravel clinic and group ride, kids races (a balance bike event for ages 4 and under and a beginner mountain bike race for ages 4-8), evening community gatherings and awards at the campground.
Campsites are reserved for the event and include a fire ring, concrete picnic table, 12 by 12 foot tent pad and graveled parking. Vault toilets are nearby; there is no water, electricity or garbage service at the sites. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
