Absolution Run : St. Edward State Park

Absolution Run is a trail running event on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at St. Edward State Park in Kenmore, WA. It is the fifth event in the 2025-26 Winter Trail Series. The event offers the following distances:

  • 4-mile
  • 8-mile

The 4-mile route is one loop; the 8-mile distance is two loops of the same course.

Course, aid and logistics

The course begins on a wide trail and then continues on swoopy, twisting single track. Part of the route runs along the shore of Lake Washington and includes a descent followed by an uphill return. The aid station is located next to the finish and is at about the halfway point for 8-mile runners. The aid station supplies water, an electrolyte drink from Skratch Labs, and a variety of carbohydrate-rich and salty foods such as cookies, energy bar pieces, gels, chews, chips, bagel, fruity candy, fig bars, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and bananas.

There is abundant parking near the start/finish/registration area, though the closest lot is reserved for hotel staff and should not be used by park visitors. If park lots fill, Bastyr University’s northwest lot may be used; that lot is about a 0.4 mile (0.7 km) walk to event headquarters. A Discover Pass is required to park at St. Edward State Park.

Registration and series notes

Registration is offered for individual events and via a series registration option. Discounts apply when registering for multiple series events.
