Absolution Run

Absolution Run is a trail running event on January 2, 2027 at St. Edward State Park in Kenmore, WA. It is the fifth event in the 2026-27 Winter Trail Series and offers two distances:

  • 4-mile loop
  • 8-mile loop (two laps of the 4-mile course)

The course begins on a wide trail then continues on twisting single track, descends to the water and runs along the shoreline before climbing back to the start. Four-mile runners complete one loop; eight-mile runners complete two loops. The aid station is next to the finish and serves water, an electrolyte drink, and a variety of carbohydrate-rich or salty items such as cookies, energy bar pieces, gels, chews, chips, bagels, fig bars, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and bananas.

There is abundant parking near the start and registration area; the closest lot is reserved for hotel staff. If park lots fill, the northwest lot at Bastyr University may be used without a Discover Pass and is about a 0.4 mile (0.7 km) walk to event headquarters. A Discover Pass is required to park at St. Edward State Park unless parking at the Bastyr lot.

Youth runners under 20 are eligible for a $10 discount. Apparel will be available for purchase at the event. Dogs are not allowed on the course. Trails remain open to other users; participants are responsible for their own safety and should follow passing etiquette and keep headphone volume low.
