The Abominable Trail Race

The Abominable Trail Race takes place at the Lake Geneva Ziplines & Adventures venue in Wisconsin. The event features forest trails and hilly terrain, offering a variety of distances for both runners and walkers. Participants can choose between several individual distances or take part in team-based relay options.

Distances available for the event include:

  • 5K
  • 10K
  • 15K
  • 30K
  • 30K Relay (Teams of 2, 3, or 4)

The 15K course consists of a 10K loop followed by a 5K loop. The 30K individual race involves completing three laps of the 10K loop. For the relay events, teams of two, three, or four runners divide the 30K distance into specific legs ranging from 5K to 10K depending on the team size and selected order.

The event includes chip timing and a marked course with aid stations providing water. A designated area at the finish line allows multi-lap participants to store bags for refueling between loops. Participants receive a shirt, a finisher's medal, and access to digital action photos.

The race site features a festival area known as Base Camp, which includes a DJ, food trucks, craft beer, and fire pits. Teams participating in the relay are permitted to set up tents in this area with prior notification. Top three male and female finishers in the individual categories receive awards. Parking is located at the House of Music across the street for a cash fee. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
