Trail Running at Gurski Farm
8 Hours at the Farm is a timed trail running event held at Gurski Farm and Williams Park in Brookfield, Connecticut. The race takes place on a 4 mile loop that features a combination of single track and rolling farm trails. The course layout is designed to allow participants to see other competitors frequently throughout the duration of the event.
Participants can choose from several distance and time-based options:
- 8 Hour timed event
- 4 Hour timed event
- 5K trail run
- 5K Canicross (running with a dog)
The event follows a cupless policy to reduce waste; therefore, runners are required to carry their own hydration systems, such as bottles, packs, or reusable cups. An aid station at the start/finish area provides water, electrolyte drinks, and various food items like potato chips, pretzels, and candy.
The course is marked with flags and signage, and participants must stay on the designated route. Finisher awards include specially designed medals and additional items from sponsors. Podium awards are also provided for the top three overall male and female finishers in the timed and 4 mile events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
