5 Peaks - Area 8 (Ontario) : event description

This event is the fourth stop of the 5 Peaks Trail Running Series in Ontario and takes place at Area 8 Conservation Area. The site is a former limestone quarry that has been converted into a natural area, with trails running along the escarpment.

The event offers multiple distances for children and adults, with maps showing route, elevation change, and aid station locations. Race distances and maps may be changed based on trail conditions up to race day.

Logistics: washroom facilities are available at the start and finish area. Parking is near the start and finish; park admission is added to the race fee at registration. All registered participants are admitted to the park at no extra charge on race day. Spectators pay the park entrance fee on arrival.

Rules and safety: no dogs, no headphones, no strollers or baby joggers, and no nordic walking poles are allowed on course. The event is cup-free; water and electrolyte drink are available at the start and finish and at one or more aid stations. Participants expecting to be on course longer than an hour should carry a personal receptacle for liquids and calories.

Swag and awards: swag and finisher medals are sold separately through the registration platform. Medals are awarded to the top three finishers in each gender in each age and distance category, plus the top three male and female overall; awards must be picked up at the race and will not be mailed.
