Hamilton, Canada • 25 Jul 2026

Event

Tally in the Valley Trail Race takes place at Dundas Valley Conservation Area in Hamilton, Ontario on July 25-26, 2026. The event is sanctioned by Athletics Ontario. La Sportiva will attend with a demo shoe fleet and will give away two pairs of shoes.

Course and formats

Participants run a 7 km loop through Carolinian forest on primarily groomed double-track trails with rolling hills. The loop has roughly 130 m of elevation gain per loop. The course will be run counter-clockwise this year and race headquarters will be based at the Trail Centre. The first 2 km follow a rail trail that is slightly downhill and exposed to sun; later sections include short steep downhills and stretches of rolling hills.

Distances and formats:

  • 7 km (one loop)
  • 21 km (three loops)
  • 100 miles (23 loops)
  • 6 hour, 12 hour, 24 hour timed events
  • Gong Show elimination - hourly 7 km loop cuts

Runners who complete 23 loops (100 miles) receive a custom belt buckle; other finishers receive a medal.

Aid, pacers and race services

One main aid station will be at the start/finish with water, electrolyte drink, snacks, PB&J, and portable toilets. A self-serve water station will be set up about halfway on the loop. The event is cup-less; runners must bring a collapsible cup or bottles. Pacer rules vary by event - no pacers for Gong Show and 6 hour, restricted pacers for 12 hour and permitted for 24 hour and 100 mile events after 9 pm. Pacers must sign a waiver and pay park admission. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
