Tally in the Valley Trail Race 2026
Tally in the Valley takes place at Dundas Valley Conservation Area in Hamilton, Ontario on July 25, 2026. The event is sanctioned by Athletics Ontario. The core course is a 7 km loop through Carolinian forest, mostly groomed double track with rolling hills and roughly 130 m of elevation gain per loop.
This year the loop is run counter-clockwise with race headquarters at the Trail Centre. The first 2 km follow a rail trail and are slightly downhill and exposed to sun. Runners then descend a short steep section to the lowest point, continue through about 2.5 km with more uphill than downhill, and finish with 2 to 2.5 km of rolling hills that return to the Trail Centre.
Available race formats include:
- 7 km one loop
- 21 km three loops
- 100 miles 23 loops
- 6 hour, 12 hour, and 24 hour timed races
- The Gong Show elimination event with a one hour loop cutoff
Aid at the start/finish offers water, an electrolyte drink, and varied snacks; a self-serve water station will be placed near halfway on the loop. The event is cup-less so runners must bring a collapsible cup or bottle. Runners who complete 100 miles receive a custom belt buckle; other finishers receive medals. Refund policy: a 100% race credit is available up to 30 days before the event, bib transfers allowed, and there is no waitlist. Sponsors for 2026 include La Sportiva and a local nutrition company providing gels. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
