Tally in the Valley Trail Race 2026
The Tally in the Valley Trail Race takes place at the Dundas Valley Conservation Area in Hamilton, Ontario. The event features a 7 km loop through a Carolinian forest. For the 2026 edition, the course is run in a counter-clockwise direction. The loop consists primarily of groomed double-track trails with rolling hills and approximately 130m of elevation gain per lap.
Participants can choose from a variety of distances and formats:
- 7 km (single loop)
- 21 km (three loops)
- 100 miles (23 loops, approximately 161 km)
- Timed races of 6 hours, 12 hours (day or night), and 24 hours
- "The Gong Show": An elimination-style event where runners must complete the 7 km loop within one hour. A new loop starts every hour on the hour, continuing for up to 24 hours.
The race headquarters is located at the Trail Centre, which serves as the start and finish area. There is one main aid station at this location providing water, electrolyte drinks, and various sweet and salty snacks. A secondary self-serve water station is positioned at the halfway point of the loop. This is a cup-less event, so runners must bring their own reusable bottles or collapsible cups.
All participants receive a race t-shirt and a medal, with the exception of the 100-mile finishers who earn a custom belt buckle. The event is sanctioned by Athletics Ontario. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
