Tally in the Valley is a multi-format trail running event at Dundas Valley Conservation Area in Hamilton, ON, Canada. The event is sanctioned by Athletics Ontario and takes place in late July 2026. Race formats include loop distances, timed events, an elimination-style "Gong Show," and a 100 mile option. All participants receive a race shirt (choice of Unisex or Women's Cut) if registered before July 1. Finish recognition includes custom medals for most events and a custom belt buckle for runners who complete 23 loops (100 miles / about 161 km).
Course and race details
The course is a counter-clockwise 7 km loop on groomed double-track trails through Carolinian forest with rolling hills and about 130 m of elevation gain per loop. The first 2 km are on a rail trail and are slightly downhill. The loop includes small rolling hills and returns to the Trail Centre, which will serve as race headquarters.
Aid and logistics: one aid station at the start/finish area with water, electrolyte drink, snacks, and assorted food; portable toilets will be available. A self-serve water station will be placed near the halfway point of the loop. The event is cup-less; runners must bring a collapsible cup or bottles. Pacers rules vary by event; some events prohibit pacers and others allow them under specified conditions. Refunds are offered as a 100% race credit if requested more than 30 days before the race; bib transfers are allowed up to 5 days before the race.
