Raid the City : urban adventure run

Raid the City takes place on August 30, 2026 in Hamilton, ON. It is a 3 hour adventure race for teams of two that uses map based navigation and point scoring. Checkpoints are placed across the city on trails, roads, alleys and in parks and are rated with different point values.

Teams may use a GPS watch, a smartphone or a compass to navigate, but travel must be on foot. Use of cars, public transit or shared bikes is not allowed. There are no aid stations on the course so teams must carry their own food and drink; buying supplies in the city with cash or card is possible.

Categories include Teams of 2 in Male/Open, Coed, Female, Masters, Super Masters and Family/Junior divisions. Teammate ages are calculated as of December 31, 2026. Masters teams must have a combined age of at least 90 and Super Masters a combined age of at least 120. Family/Junior teams consist of one adult and one youth aged 18 or under.

Entry fees vary by registration deadline and by category. Fees include race maps for each participant, access to the race app, post race hot food, event gear and a 2026 day membership to cover race insurance. Fees do not include online transaction charges or HST. Pets are not allowed on the course or at registration.

Race rules require teammates to remain within visual sight and be able to communicate verbally, to follow normal road rules and to avoid entering private property. Awards are given to first place in each category and to the top three teams in categories with at least ten entries, plus draw prizes from sponsors.
