3 Beaches Half Marathon Hebrides

Event overview

The 3 Beaches Half Marathon Hebrides takes place on 03 May 2026 on the Isle of Benbecula, Outer Hebrides. It is a multi-terrain half marathon that can be entered solo or as a pair. Standard entry is £20, with a discounted rate of £18 until 02 May 2026 for Scottish Athletics members. A service fee of 4% (minimum 50p) applies to each sign-up. Total places are 120 and the event status is listed as open.

Course and logistics

The course starts on machair land behind the Dark Island Hotel, then enters Liniclate beach, proceeds north to "Stinky Bay" (beach #2) and reaches the Culla Bay beach checkpoint and pairs changeover at 5 miles. After that point the route follows tarmac to finish in front of the Dark Island Hotel. The route is available as a GPX download. Water is provided on course, described as both seawater and fresh bottled water. The beach and machair land can be uneven underfoot; the organiser notes rabbits dig large burrows in the area.

Prizes are awarded to the first three male and first three female finishers, various age categories, and first place in male, female and mixed pairs. Refunds: up to 1 April a £5 refund is available; after 1 May no refund is offered. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
