WWII Veterans Memorial Trail Weighted Race : October 17, 2026
The WWII Veterans Memorial Trail Weighted Race is a timed weight-carrying event held October 17, 2026, in Mansfield, MA. The format gives each participant six hours to complete as many laps as possible on an out-and-back course of at least 2.5 miles. The surface includes paved, gravel, and grass sections.
Competitors carry a pack, plate carrier, or other weight of their choosing on each lap. Organizers weigh the load at the start and at the finish of every lap and use the lower weight for scoring. Lap distance is multiplied by that lower weight to produce a score in pound miles, presented as Kz. For example, carrying 30 pounds over a 2.5 mile lap yields 75 Kz for that lap. Participants may add, reduce, or keep the same weight between laps. The final lap must be completed before the six hour clock expires for that lap to count.
Awards are based on the highest total Kz within each division. The event is held on the Mansfield WWII Veterans Memorial Trail, a corridor along the former Old Colony Railroad Line once used by service personnel moving from Camp Myles Standish in Taunton toward Boston for embarkation.
