About the race
Wicked Rogaines Spring Series Event 5 is a rogaining round held at Adventure Park in Christchurch on 11 November 2026. The series takes place mostly off road on tracks around the Port Hills and celebrates springtime exploration of farmland, bush and parkland. Rogaining is a timed navigation event where teams travel on foot using map and compass to visit checkpoints that carry different scores. Typical team sizes are two to six members; some shorter events allow solo competitors.
Teams must stay within earshot of each other and choose route strategies to maximise score by visiting selected checkpoints. Competition classes include Men, Women and Mixed gender categories, and age divisions: Open, Junior, Veteran and Super Veteran. Event lengths offered are: - 2 hour - 1 hour - 1 hour Kids Event Mandatory gear includes a polypropylene base layer, waterproof jacket, hat and gloves, good footwear, water, whistle, headlamp with batteries, one cellphone per team and one compass per team. Additional suggested items include a highlighter, gaiters or tights, trekking poles and a first aid kit per team. The event emphasises respect for landowners and environmental care, with rules about gates, stock, litter and out-of-bound areas.
