Wicked Rogaines Spring Series – Event 3
This event is the third round of the Wicked Rogaines Spring Series, held on 28 October 2026 at Mount Vernon Park, Christchurch. The series runs across five dates in October and November 2026 and is held mostly off road on tracks around the Port Hills.
Rogaining is a map-and-compass navigation sport where teams travel entirely on foot to visit as many checkpoints as possible within a set time. The series offers 2 hour and 1 hour options, plus a 1 hour Wicked Kids Fun event with easy controls near the start/finish area. Teams must consist of two to six members and teams containing anyone under 14 must include a member aged 18 or over. Shorter duration rogaines may allow solo competitors.
Checkpoints carry different scores based on access difficulty, so route choice and team strategy affect results. Competition classes include Men, Women, and Mixed teams, and age categories Open, Junior, Veteran, and Super Veteran.
Organisers specify mandatory gear including a polypropylene base layer, waterproof jacket, hat and gloves, good footwear, water, whistle, headlamp with batteries, one cellphone per team, and one compass per team. A virtual option is available for entries, and a tiered refund policy permits partial refunds or transfers to the virtual event depending on withdrawal timing.
