West Yorkshire Winter League (WYWL) 2026-27
The West Yorkshire Winter League is a team and individual trail series held across six races from November to January. A season pass priced at £20 grants entry to all six races. Entries close on 25/10/2026. Chip timing was introduced in 2024/25.
Races are run over trail terrain with a hilly profile and single laps of about 5–6 miles. The series holds a Trail Running Association race licence and an overall entry limit of 1000 competitors. Courses are not suitable for wheelchairs or for blind runners. Dogs are not allowed. Headphones are used in line with England Athletics guidelines. Facilities on course are limited; there are no water points, changing facilities, showers, or baggage storage.
The league comprises 17 member clubs, including Baildon Runners, Bramley Breezers, Craven Energy, Crossgates Harriers, Dewsbury RR, Idle AC, Leeds & Bradford Tri, Methley Striders, Northowram Pumas, Pudsey Pacers, Queensbury RC, Skipton AC, South Leeds Lakers, Stadium Runners, Stainland Lions, Todmorden Harriers and Slaithwaite Striders. The competition is open only to fully paid-up affiliated members of these clubs aged 17 and over; competitors must be affiliated to England Athletics or British Triathlon.
Individual awards cover top male and female finishers and age categories in five-year bands; team awards include male, female, vets (35+), super vets (50+) and overall teams. No refunds, deferrals or transfers are permitted. Competitors take part at their own risk and the league and hosting clubs accept no liability for injury or loss.
