West Seattle Monster Dash
The West Seattle Monster Dash is a costumed community event at Lincoln Park in Seattle supporting South Seattle College Cooperative Preschools. The main offering is a 5K trail run and walk on the upper portion of Lincoln Park, accompanied by short kids dashes and a virtual "Just a Shirt" option that provides a t-shirt without running.
The 5K starts near Shelter 1 just northeast of the south parking lot and uses mostly trails. The course runs north along trail 6 passing the wading pool and Shelter 5, then turns west at the park north end, loops to head south on trail 2, passes the bathrooms near the south parking lot, and returns north for a second loop. The start and finish are at the same location. Course markings and volunteers will guide participants. Jogging strollers are welcome; children in strollers do not need separate registration. Pets are not permitted.
Kids dashes are untimed, short trail runs led by a costumed monster and run in heats to reduce crowding. Participants wear a "number one" bib and receive a plastic finishers medal. Paid registration includes a Monster Dash t-shirt for all races and a timing bib with chip for the 5K only. T-shirts for the virtual option are available for pre-order while supplies last and may be picked up at packet pick up or on race day.
Packet pick up is offered at West Seattle Runner, 2743 California Ave SW Suite 101, Seattle WA 98116, or on race day at Lincoln Park adjacent to the starting line.
