About the race

We Out Here Trail Festival is a trail running event planned for June 12, 2027, at St. Edwards State Park in Kirkland, Washington. The event uses a looped course at the park so participants receive crowd support and the course is spectator friendly.

All finishers receive a medal and festival access with non alcoholic drinks and snacks. The festival area also includes free face painting and children's activities. The event emphasizes inclusion and outreach. In 2026, 62% of participants identified as first time trail runners.

Organizers state the festival is intended to welcome runners of varied experience and extend an invitation to individuals from underrepresented communities, including Black people and people of color who have not previously participated in a trail race. The event is adopting a sustainable racing program that eliminates disposable cups. Participants will receive a reusable HydraPak SpeedCup for use on and off course. Logistics notes from the organizer: parking at the park is limited and a Discovery Pass is required to park; annual and daily passes are available for purchase onsite. St.

Edwards State Park is about 15 miles from Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood and about 4.5 miles from Bothell; organizers recommend lodging near Bothell for easier access. Race directors include experienced community organizers and fitness professionals involved with running programming and coaching. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
