Ultra X Wales
Ultra X Wales is a two day trail running event held in the Brecon Beacons / Bannau Brycheiniog near Abergavenny on 24–25 July 2027. The route runs through hills, valleys, and rugged open country typical of the national park.
Distances offered include:
- 100 miles
- 110 km
- 60 km
- 50 km
- 25 km
- 12 km
The event difficulty is rated 4/6 and technicality 3/5. Typical temperatures are given as 14-22°C. Participants receive a full Race Pack by email one month before the event with detailed information, timings, and cut-offs.
Camping is available at Llangorse Activity Centre on the Friday and Saturday nights. After entry, participants receive a welcome email with key dates and may book an optional pre race team call. There is also a private online group for community discussion.
Several races at Ultra X Wales are UTMB index races in the 100 mile, 100k, 50k and 20k categories. Tickets are released in three stages; the third release is open with the last 500 places noted. The GB SLAM recognises runners who complete three specified GB Ultra X ultra distance events within 12 months. To qualify for that award, entrants must enter and finish each event within its cut off times; the Ultra X Wales 25 km does not count toward the Grand Slam.
