Ultra X Wales
Ultra X Wales takes place in the Brecon Beacons / Bannau Brycheiniog near Abergavenny on 24 to 25 July 2027. The event is a rugged trail race through rolling hills, valleys and wild scenery.
Distances offered include:
- 110 km
- 60 km
- 50 km
- 25 km
- 12 km
The organiser lists difficulty as 4/6 and technicality as 3/5. Typical temperatures are given as 14 to 22°C.
Participants are able to camp at Llangorse Activity Centre on Friday and Saturday nights. A full Race Pack containing detailed information, timings and cut-offs will be emailed to registered participants about one month before the event.
Ultra X Wales’ races are UTMB® Index Races in the 100k, 50k and 20k categories. The Great British Slam recognises participants who complete all three GB Ultra X ultra events within a calendar year; entrants must enter and finish each individual event within the race cut‑off times. Ultra X Wales 25 km does not count toward the Grand Slam. Awards for the Slam are presented at the finish line of the final event, Ultra X England.
Tickets are being released in three stages; the First Release is sold out and an interest list exists for the Second Release. After entry participants receive a welcome email, the Race Pack, access to a private Facebook group and may book an optional pre‑race team call.
