Tryon Farm races
This event takes place at Tryon Farm in Michigan City, Indiana on October 3, 2026. It is based on a 4 mile loop that is used repeatedly for the longer distance options.
Distances offered:
- 2 mile Fun Run/Walk
- 4 mile Trail Run
- 8 mile Trail Run
- 25k Trail Run
- 50k Trail Run
The course is a 4 mile loop through Tryon Farm. The 8 mile is two loops, the 25k is four loops, and the 50k is eight loops. Surfaces include open grassy fields, single track dirt trails, and short sections of pavement to reach other parts of the trail system.
Logistics note that there is no parking at the start and finish area; parking is across the street at Head Start of LaPorte County, 811 Royal Rd, with a walk to the venue. The main aid station is at the start and finish area. There is an unmanned water and Gatorade station near the 1.5 mile mark. Two port a potties are located at the main station and there are no bathrooms on the course. Participants are asked to wear their bib on the front for loop counting.
The event benefits the Tryon Farm Institute and is part of the Crazy Legs Race Series, which promotes non pavement and pavement races in Northwest Indiana and notes an inclusive registration policy for transgender runners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
