Time Laps 24 Hour Relay Race : Whitewater Center
Time Laps is a 24 hour, lap-based trail running relay held at the Whitewater Center in Charlotte, NC. Teams of 2 to 12 participants compete to accumulate as many points as possible by completing laps; each lap carries a point value tied to its distance and elevation. Standings are based on total points and runners must check in at the scoring table after each lap.
The event permits solo entries and team divisions; only one runner per team may score points at a time. Runners from the same team may run together between sunset and sunrise if they choose. Bonus points and awards are available during three separate eight hour windows and through on-site mental and physical challenges.
Registered participants receive three meals during the event, raffle tickets, a race t-shirt and a finisher medal. Race shirts are guaranteed to those who pre-register by May 10, 2027; finisher medals are guaranteed to teams that register by April 12, 2027. Registration is non-refundable and the 24 hour relay is limited to 400 participants on a first register, first serve basis; day-of registration is not available.
Designated team camping areas are provided with rules: generators are not permitted, dogs must be leashed, and a refundable campsite deposit of $50 cash is collected at check-in.
