Beast of the East 100 is an off road trail event on Crowders Mountain near Kings Mountain, NC, organized by Dirty Wolf Ultras for December 12, 2026. The event offers multiple trail distances on redesigned 2025 routes with aid stations and set time limits for most distances. Registration closes Tue, Dec 8 at 11:59 PM ET.

Course overview: most races start and finish at the Crowders Ridge start/finish area and use a sequence of park trails including Tower Trail, Rocktop Trail, Crowders Trail, Pinnacle Trail, Turnback Trail, Fern Trail, Ridgeline Trail and access points at 161 and Boulders. The 100 Miler, 100K and 50 Miler follow repeated loops of this base route; the 100 Miler requires three full loops plus a partial fourth to reach about 101 miles, the 100K requires two full loops plus a partial third to reach about 67.35 miles, and the 50 Miler comprises two loops totaling about 53.79 miles. The Half Marathon follows a single loop and has no time limit.
Aid stations: four on course named Crowders Ridge, Wolf Base, The 161 Aid Station and Boulders Access. Stations offer basic foods such as pickles wrapped in bacon, cereal, gummies, salt pretzels, candy, fruit, and some hot items; drinks include Tailwind, water and sodas.
Gear and rules: trekking poles are allowed. Pacers are permitted for the 100K and for the 100 Miler after 50 miles. Time cutoffs: Half Marathon none; Marathon 10 hours; 50 Miler 30 hours; 100K 30 hours; 100 Miler 34 hours.
