Frigid Trail Race & Polar Plunge
The event in Charlotte, NC combines trail running with an organized plunge into the Deep Water Solo pool. It offers two course distances:
- 5K
- 10K
Pre-registration pricing is listed separately for each distance, with a final pre-registration date of January 27, 2027. Day-of registration is available at a higher fee. Packet pick-up is scheduled on the two days before the race and there is day-of packet pick-up at the event.
Participants must sign the venue's Assumption of Risk Agreement before participating; the waiver can be printed and brought to packet pick-up or completed on site. Race registration is non-refundable. Trail users should expect mixed trail traffic, including other runners, hikers, and bikers, and are asked to communicate when passing. E-bikes and other powered transportation are not permitted in Whitewater Race Series events.
Event operations are planned to proceed rain or shine, with the venue reserving the right to alter, reschedule, or cancel events. Parking at the Whitewater Center carries a daily fee with options for annual passes and oversized parking at higher rates. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers by listed age groups for both distances; recipients must be present at the award ceremony to receive awards. There is an option to purchase event apparel and a mug add-on that includes hot chocolate. In an emergency participants are instructed to call 911.
