About the race
MammothMarch South Carolina is a long-distance hiking event held at Kings Mountain State Park and nearby Kings Mountain National Military Park. The event offers single-circuit routes that showcase trails, lakes, and the eastern foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The start and finish are at the Kings Mountain State Park event field, 1020 Apple Rd, Blacksburg, SC.
Distances offered:
- 20 miles on a single loop inside Kings Mountain State Park.
- 30 miles route that additionally covers parts of Kings Mountain National Military Park.
The 20-mile route has around 1,500 ft total elevation gain; the 30-mile route has around 2,750 ft. Terrain is mainly unpaved hiking trails, dirt and horse trails, gravel roads, and forest floor. Water stops and aid stations are positioned approximately every 5 to 7 miles and provide toilets, food, drinks, electrolytes, fruits, bars, sandwiches and similar refreshments. Finishers receive a personalized certificate and a finisher medal; participants who stop early receive a certificate stating mileage covered. MammothMarch Hiking Passes will be available for new participants, and returning participants can collect 2027 stamps if they bring their existing pass. Complimentary on-site parking is provided.
