The Twmbarlwm Terror 2026

The Twmbarlwm Terror is a multi‑terrain race organised by Fairwater Runners Cwmbran on 01 Nov 2026. The course is approximately 7 miles, running from Risca through Pantyreos to the Twmbarlwm peak and back to Risca. The route follows footpaths, open fields, country lanes and woodland and has varied underfoot conditions with a total elevation gain of about 1000 ft.

This is the sixth running of the event. Entry is limited to 200 places. Online entries via Entry Central close at midnight on 30 Oct 2026; on the day entries are cash only if the race limit has not been reached. Entry fees are £15 for those aged 17 and over and £13 for affiliated club members.

Facilities at the race include parking at Risca Leisure Centre, number collection on the day, complimentary tea, coffee and cake for competitors, a refreshment station on the route, medical and rescue cover, and changing, showers and toilets. The route will be well marshalled. There is no bag drop facility.

Prizes are awarded for first overall male and female and for age categories, with a cash prize for a new male or female course record and spot prizes including best fancy dress. A Welsh Athletics permit is pending. Results will be made available after the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

A pancake-flat 10 km out and back along the Brecon and Monmouthshire canal between Gilwern and Llangattock, set in the Brecon Beacons National Park. Finishers receive a medal, there is a drink station at 5 km, and entries are online only.
