The Napa Lapa Trail Adventure
The Napa Lapa Trail Adventure is a time-based trail running event held at Skyline Wilderness Park in Napa, California. Runners aim to cover as much distance as possible within predetermined time windows offered in three formats: 3 hour, 6 hour, and 12 hour.
The main loop is 4.16 miles with approximately 815 feet of elevation gain per lap. During the final 40 minutes of each timed event a short closing loop of 0.34 miles will be opened for finishing laps. The course is mostly fire road and moderately technical dirt singletrack with long hills, descents, and twisty sections. Hiking poles are permitted.
Courses are marked with colored ribbon approximately every 200 meters; blue ribbons indicate wrong way. There is one full aid station at the start/finish and a water station at mile 2. Aid stations provide a variety of fluids and foods, and organizers note that runners should carry their own hydration due to the event being cupless. Disposable timing chips are attached to the back of each bib and timing is handled by professional chip timing systems.
The event has a maximum capacity of 500 runners. Awards include overall podium trophies, fastest lap recognition, best dressed, age group medals across standard age ranges including non binary categories, and finisher medals. Race shirts are provided and guaranteed for registrations completed by July 25, 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
