The More Miles Last One Standing Challenge
The More Miles Last One Standing Challenge is a backyard ultra held June 5, 2027 at Manidokan Camp and Retreat Center in Knoxville, MD. The event uses the official backyard format: runners complete a set loop each hour and continue into the next hour only if they finish the loop within that hour. The winner is the last person able to complete the loop; the second-to-last finisher is designated the assist.
Distances:
- 4.167 miles per lap in the Official Backyard Ultra.
- 1 mile per lap in the Mortals Edition, 24 hours then tie-breaker.
The event is Silver Level official backyard status, and top contenders may be eligible for at-large entry to the Backyard Ultra world championship based on total yards completed. Prize money is awarded to both the Last One Standing champion and the assist, paid based on official race miles.
Participants receive official timing, a race t-shirt, a race bib, and a consolation prize if they do not finish. The site allows on-site camping with a designated 10 by 10 foot space. Organizers provide aid stations with water, Open Fuel drink mix, ice, and a rotating snack menu with cold items in hours 5-12 and hot items from hour 13 onward. Showers and rentable cabins are available near the start/finish area. The race is cupless and requires personal bottles or collapsible cups; headlamps are required between sunset and sunrise.
