About the race
Colt Creek State Park Trail Run is a chip-timed trail race held at Colt Creek State Park near Lakeland, Florida. The event offers three distances and is part of the Tetra Quest series; it is listed as a UTMB Index race. Runners follow well-maintained, generally flat trails through pine forest and around park lakes.
Aid stations are placed approximately every 2.5 miles. On-course restrooms are available at specified mile points for the longer distances, and the half marathon includes scheduled nutrition at miles 5, 7.5, and 10. The event provides post-race food, race swag, and finisher medallions for participants.
Race distances and basic course facts:
- 5K - 3.18 miles; 104 ft elevation gain; 1 aid station; 1 on-course restroom.
- 10K - 6.28 miles; 180 ft elevation gain; 2 aid stations; 1 on-course restroom.
- Half Marathon - 13.13 miles; 330 ft elevation gain; 5 aid stations; 3 on-course restrooms.
Individual awards are given overall and by age group, with masters categories included. A Run Club team competition recognizes the fastest teams and the largest team across distances.
