Tenacious Ten Hour Endurance Challenge
The Tenacious Ten is a 10 hour loop endurance challenge held on Mynydd Troed at Pengenfford Common near Talgarth, Powys (LD3 0EY). Entrants run repeated marked loops of roughly 2.7 miles (about 4.2–4.3 km) with around 1,000 ft of ascent per lap. The route includes steep climbs to the summit, false summits, technical and steep downhills, runnable sections and open common trails. The course is fully marked and two clip stations on course require runners to clip a laminated card to confirm each completed lap.
Entries are accepted for solo runners, pairs and teams of four. Team entries count loops collectively and use a last person standing approach; teams must be named. A strict 10 hour cut off applies and any lap not completed before the final horn will not be recorded. Medics may withdraw participants deemed unfit to continue; participants who continue against medical advice do so at their own risk and the organisers accept no responsibility for such actions.
Support crews are permitted at headquarters but not on the route; food in the Refuel Zone is for entrants only. Facilities listed include camping with nearby toilets, refreshments, toilets on site, parking (limited, fee and ballot system) and a full medical team. A refuel zone at the start/finish provides a range of food and drinks and a drop bag area is available. GPX downloads are provided. Mandatory kit is checked at registration and includes waterproof jacket and trousers, race vest, baselayer, capacity for 2 litres of fluid, emergency food, map or GPX file, charged phone, hat and gloves, appropriate trail footwear, first aid items, foil blanket, reusable cup, head torch and whistle, and basic hygiene items.
