Trail Ultra Event Details

Survival of the F.I.T.test is a trail running event held in Cumberland, Rhode Island, that emphasizes distance over a set time period. The course consists of a 5 mile trail loop. The terrain is divided between 50% non-technical smooth trails and 50% moderately technical sections containing rocks and roots.

Participants can choose from several timed categories:

  • 8 Hours: An estimated 50K distance.
  • 12 Hours: An estimated 100K distance.
  • 34 Hours: Available for individuals or teams of 2, 3, or 4 people.

Individual runners can earn buckles for reaching specific milestones, including 50K (8 laps), 50 miles (12 laps), 100K (15 laps), and 100 miles (24 laps). Teams are eligible for mileage medals based on their cumulative distance at 150 miles, 200 miles, 250 miles, and 400 miles.

The venue features a spacious and centrally located pit area. Participants are permitted to bring 10x10 canopy tents to set up in this space. For team entries, rosters do not need to be finalized at the time of registration and can be modified until the event begins. Pacers are also permitted on the course to assist other participants.
