Ellis County Turkey Trot
The 4th Annual Ellis County Turkey Trot offers three race distances on Thanksgiving morning at Getzendaner Park Trail in Waxahachie, Texas. The event location is 400 S Grand Ave, Waxahachie, TX 75165.

- 5K 3.1 miles
- 10K 6.2 miles
- 8 Miler 8 miles
Registration opens June 6, 2026 and the listed registration fee is $35. Participants who register before November 5 will receive a commemorative shirt and medal. Teams must be entered by November 5 to be eligible for team prizes.
Awards are provided for overall and age group placings. Male and female overall awards are given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. Masters awards are given for 1st place only. Age group awards are 1st, 2nd and 3rd in these divisions: 14 and under; 15–19; 20–29; 30–39; 40–49; 50–59; 60 and above.
The course follows the Getzendaner Park Trail and is described by the organizer as suitable for running or walking the listed distances.
