THE CHASE DFW
THE CHASE is a trail race in Cedar Hill, Texas, held on trail terrain that includes dirt, rocks, roots, elevation changes, and occasional pavement and gravel. The event offers two distances:
- 5K
- 15K
Every participant receives a unique CHASE bib with a tear tag. Runners receive a five-minute head start before the CLAW is released onto the course to chase them. If the CLAW catches a runner, the CLAW takes the tear tag; runners continue to the finish whether or not their tag remains. Crossing the finish with the tag intact is recorded as "ESCAPED"; losing the tag is recorded as "CLAWED."
All finishers receive THE CHASE finisher medal with either an ESCAPED THE CLAW or CLAWED medal attachment, and all participants receive a CHASE tee. First place male and female awards are given in each distance and are determined by finish time. The race is timed. There will be one CLAW per distance and one CLAW per 150 runners.
Aid at the start/finish offers water, basic hydration, and snacks. This is a cupless event; participants should bring a personal bottle or hydration system. The tear tag must be visible on the back of the bib at all times; covering or hiding the tag results in disqualification. Walking is allowed, but the CLAW does not walk.
