About the race
The Ennis Bluebonnet Run is a community road and trail event held in Ennis, Texas on April 17, 2027. The event offers multiple race options, in-person and virtual, with proceeds supporting CROME scholarship, mentorship, and career pathway programs for Ellis County students. Past fundraising figures include more than $40,000 raised and 30+ scholarships awarded.
Course routes pass near Kachina Prairie and Lake Clark Park, including a dam crossing, shoreline sections, tree-covered trails, and open prairie views. The courses are hybrid road and trail routes with mixed surfaces, uneven terrain, and some inclines; runners are advised to exercise caution on natural surface transitions. Carbon-plated racing shoes are discouraged for safety on trail sections. Emergency medical services will be on site and water stations are provided on the 5K course.
Age divisions follow five-year increments beginning at age 10 through 70+, with a separate 9 & under division. Awards include 1st–3rd place by age division and overall winners for the timed races; top finishers may be added to a commemorative trophy. Packet pickup occurs the week before race day; exact details are announced later. Virtual races run during an April window with self-timed results and swag shipped to participants.
