Blazin Summer Sufferfest
Blaze Trails Running hosts the Blazin Summer Sufferfest at Cedar Hill State Park. The event is a night trail race on the southern portion of the 12 mile DORBA trail system that runs along the edge of Joe Pool Lake through forest and grasslands. Terrain on the course is described as moderate to challenging. All races run counterclockwise and the event enforces an 11 hour time limit.
Distances offered:
- Approximately 5K one 5K loop, no aid stations
- Approximately 10K one 10K loop, one aid station
- Approximately 18K one 18K loop
- Approximately 36K two 18K loops
- Approximately 54K three 18K loops
All participants must carry a hydration device such as a water bottle or hydration bladder. The 5K has no aid stations; the 10K passes a single aid station at about 3.4 miles; the 18K, 36K and 54K visits the Copperhead Corner aid station twice per loop at roughly 3.4 and 7.2 miles. This is a cupless race; a reusable collapsible cup is available for purchase. Drop bags may be left at the Start/Finish at the owner’s risk. Pacers are not allowed. Awards are given to top overall and masters finishers, and finisher medals differ by distance with 15K and over receiving finisher medals.
