Strength To Serve Challenge
The Strength To Serve Challenge takes place on September 13, 2026 at Green Lakes State Park in Fayetteville, NY. It is a purpose driven obstacle and fitness race that combines running, functional fitness, and job inspired challenges. The course is roughly 3 miles and includes about 30 challenges inspired by first responder training and skills.
Obstacles include a variety of strength, endurance, agility, and mental tasks. Examples listed by the organizer include three consecutive 4 foot wall climbs, a balance beam with elevation change, a 24 foot confined space maze, a low profile victim drag with a 75 lb bag, a 100 lb push and pull sled, a 100 lb fire hose drag for 50', a car extrication tool carry of about 40 lb for 40', a shoulder carry of a 35 lb high rise pack, a 170 lb dummy takedown with two attempts, and a 5 foot long jump into a sand pit. The course also contains six quick reading mental stations; failures result in a penalty of 10 push ups or 10 burpees. Organizers note options to scale difficulty so participants can adjust challenges to their ability.
