About the race
SoCal Redwood Race is a timed endurance event for runners and walkers held at Carbon Canyon Regional Park in Brea on April 24, 2027. The course passes through Southern California's only coastal redwood grove and runs alongside the Carbon Canyon dam.
The event offers the following time-based formats:
- 3 hour event option
- 6 hour event option
- 12 hour event option
The course is a scenic 2-mile loop that winds through redwoods and fern-lined paths. The loop includes paved and dirt sections and registers about 69 feet of elevation gain per lap. Terrain is described as easy.
Support on the course includes aid stations on every lap offering sodas, water, electrolytes, food, and snacks. The event provides a race bib, a race t-shirt, and a finisher medal to participants. Participation is limited to 150 entrants to keep the field small. The event is presented by the creator of the Swiss Alps 100 and is open to walkers and runners who want a timed, loop-based endurance experience in a redwood grove setting.
