APIFM Friendsgiving “FUN”draiser Run - Whittier Narrows
The APIFM Friendsgiving “FUN”draiser Run takes place on November 15, 2026 at Whittier Narrows Recreation Area in South El Monte, CA. The event offers multiple course distances on park trails and benefits API Forward Movement (APIFM), whose community programs focus on health equity, food access, environmental health and justice, access to green space, and leadership development.
Distances include:
- 5k out-and-back on the park trail
- 10k two 5k loops
- 15k three 5k loops
- Half marathon three 4.36 mile out-and-back loops
The course is open and shared with other pedestrians, runners, and cyclists; it will be marked and follow out-and-back loops. An aid station is located at the turnaround near the start/finish area and provides water cups, water bottles, Gatorade cups, and Gu gels. The half marathon has a 3:15 time limit; requests for additional time are handled by the event organizers.
Registration includes custom finisher medals, drawstring goodie bags, videos and photos linked to bib numbers, live results at finish, race highlight reels, trophies and achievement badges, Ascend Index rankings and app features, and an assortment of snacks and samples.
