About the race
The Skidola is the seventh annual on-snow uphill race held in Telluride on March 12, 2027. The course runs from the Town of Telluride up to the San Sophia Ridge and is open to different on-snow methods. Participants may compete using microspikes, snowshoes, skis, or splitboards; one listed category shows a distance of 0.8 miles.
The event has open registration and welcomes both competitive racers and those taking part for recreation. All participants receive a Skidola buff. Prizes are awarded to the top male and female finishers, the best costume, and the middle-place racer. Proceeds benefit the Peter Inglis Avalanche Education Fund to support avalanche education and backcountry user awareness in the San Juan Mountains.
Bib pick up is scheduled before the race at two local locations: Jagged Edge (223 E. Colorado Ave, Telluride, CO 81435) and Oak Street Plaza (250 San Juan Ave, Telluride, CO 81435). The event is presented by the Telluride Foundation in partnership with the Peter Inglis Avalanche Education Fund and lists local sponsors.
