Silverton Alpine Runs
The Silverton Alpine Runs take place in Silverton, Colorado on Saturday, July 18, 2026. The event features multiple trail distances that use the Alpine Loop jeep roads through the San Juan Mountains and start/finish at Silverton Memorial Park.
Distances offered:
- 50K : approximately 31.8 miles
- Marathon : approximately 26.8 miles
- 8 Miler : approximately 8.4 miles
The 50K and marathon follow a loop that passes through historic mining towns including Howardsville, Eureka, Animas Forks, and Gladstone. The course reaches a maximum elevation near California Pass at about 12,926 feet. Key course data for the 50K include about 4,569 feet of elevation gain; the marathon lists about 3,911 feet of gain; the 8 Miler has about 382 feet of gain and a lower maximum elevation.
Aid stations are provided along the longer courses and some checkpoints are designated as checkpoint only or no aid. There is no crew or spectator access at aid stations; crew and spectators may assist runners only at the start and finish at Memorial Park. Pacers are not allowed in any distance. The Kendall Mountain Run segment is cupless, so runners must carry their own container for refills at aid stations. Drop bag storage will be available at the start/finish area.
