Historic Shropshire 50K - Saturday 15 May 2027
The Historic Shropshire 50K is an organised long distance running event scheduled for Saturday 15 May 2027. Registration and the start line are at Telford Town Park while the finish is at Shrewsbury Quarry. Entrants must be at least 16 years old. Dogs and prams are not permitted.
The marked route passes a series of historic sites from many periods. Highlights named for the route include the Silkin Way, Ironbridge, Buildwas Abbey, Much Wenlock Abbey, Wroxeter Roman City, Attingham Park, Shrewsbury Abbey and Shrewsbury Castle. The course also includes a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the birthplace of the modern Olympics as part of its itinerary.
Event services and features listed for participants include a bespoke medal that is newly designed each year, a route measured manually to the centimetre using a measuring wheel, free bag transfer from the start to the finish, and technical running T shirts available for an extra charge. Marshals are provided along the course and are noted in event information for receiving positive feedback. A Shropshire Challenge Medal is awarded to those who complete the Historic Shropshire event together with the Church Stretton 50K and the Shrewsbury 50K.
