37th Cardington Cracker
The Cardington Cracker is an FRA AM fell race based at Cardington Village Hall in Shropshire. The course measures 14.5 km with a total height gain of 793 metres. The route includes some short sections of road and three road crossings.
The course is marked and marshalled except for the section off the first hill, The Lawley, which is an obvious run down the spine of the hill. The terrain can be wet in December and summit conditions may be testing at this time of year, so shoes with plenty of grip are recommended.
All competitors must carry the required full FRA kit throughout the race. Race numbers and dibbers are collected on the day; competitors should bring their own pins and must return their dibber after finishing. Competitors who retire should inform a marshal or a finish official so they are not reported missing.
Water is available at the finish only; there is no water on the course. A table will be available at the finish for any personal drink containers. Parking is restricted to official car parks because parking on village roads upsets residents and could affect the future use of the venue.
