Selworthy Stargazer
Selworthy Stargazer is a night trail running event on 30 October 2026 held on the high moorland of the Exmoor Coast at North Hill, Minehead, Somerset (TA24 5LB; OS grid SS 953 474; what3words giggled.horses.fiery). The event is part of the Exmoor National Park Dark Skies Festival and uses trails between North Hill and Bossington Hill, including a summit at Selworthy Beacon.
There are two route options:
- 5 km (created by a mid-course cut across)
- 10 km (a full 10 km loop)
The course is undulating on tracks and good trails with a few technical sections. The route is waymarked and uses reflective markers. Runners must wear appropriate winter clothing for weather conditions and are required to carry a head or chest torch (organisers state a minimum lumen requirement). Trail running shoes are strongly advised.
Entrants must register and sign in before the event start. Online entries close seven days before the event; limited late-entry options may be offered closer to race day without the medal option. An optional bespoke wooden finisher's medal is available for an extra charge and is supplied only to those who order before the entry deadline. Water is available at the event hub, at the finish and halfway on the 10 km route; participants should bring a drinking vessel. Dogs are not permitted to compete. Medical cover will be present on site and on the route. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
