The Snow Globe Gallop Bobble Hat Run - Wales
This event, organised by Saturn Too Limited and held at Dare Valley Country Park in Aberdare, is a Christmas Carol bobble hat run licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UK Athletics rules. The event offers member benefits including a guaranteed entry and a £10 lower entry price for members; runners who belong to a UK Athletics affiliated club receive a £2 discount.
The format is a 7 hour Time Challenge that allows participants to choose how many laps to run. The minimum official finishing distance is 3 km. A typical lap is about 7 km (4.37 miles) but the course may be revised to a shorter loop depending on conditions; 3k and 5k turn points are available to meet age restrictions. Typical lap counts: three laps for a half marathon, six for a marathon, seven or more for an ultra; a 50 km option is available.

The course runs on well maintained footpaths with countryside views and is suitable for a road trainer. Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a themed medal and a bobble hat; distance pins are awarded for half-marathon and longer. Finishers receive a goody bag with a vegan alternative. There is an aid and drinks table at the start/finish of each lap, toilets on site, a nearby cafe, and free parking. A bag drop is available but not secure. Bone conducting headphones only are allowed and participants should be considerate of other path users. Number pick up is on the day at race registration.
